The municipality of Carrascal is located in the northeastern portion of Surigao del Sur. It is bounded in the north by the municipality of Claver, Surigao del Norte, in the south by the municipality of Cantilan, Surigao del Sur, in the east by Pacific Ocean and in the west by the province of Agusan del Norte.
The town is 70 kilometers away from Tandag, the capital of Surigao del Sur. It is accessible by land and belongs to CARAGA Region XIII.
