Towards Economic Development"by looking at the words to be formed on a blank sheet of paper, one could see his powers to create, one could come to realization that he could play God," so quips Alberto Montagna in his book titled "Men of Words".
Indeed, we have powers on our hands either to create or destroy. Our actions could create deeds that could either humanize or dehumanize... It is not a variable, there's a presence of being absolute in us. With the booming of the mining industry in our municipality, lots are raising their eyebrows and even their voices via the internet in protest. But always, there are two sides of the coin. Listening to the positive intentions of the Local Government Unit under the sterwardship of the Local Chief Executive, one could not deny the fact that indeed, Carrascal is on its way towards becoming CARAGA's pride. In the year 2006, the total collection based on the records of the Municipal Treasurer's Office amounted to Php1,509,034.08. But with the coming in of the mining industry in this town, the total payment for loading fee on mineral products as of November 2007 amounted to Php9,417,917.31. This could be used for the local infrastructures and other local projects. Also, the schools and other sectors of our community could now avail the services and help of these companies for they are now being considered as the school's stakeholders. Local employment also starts to escalate. The CTP Const. and Mining Corp. alone has 470+ Carrascalanons employed while Carrascal Nickel Corp. employs 87+ Carrascalanons, ADNAMA Mining Resources, Inc. 79+ Carrascalanons, and Hinatuan Mining 30+ Carrascalanons. But we still have to be vigilant if there are alarming things that would manifest in our environment. We, together with the local officials are the only vanguards of our town. Onward Carrascal!
