General Information - Barangay Caglayag can be reached using pump boat about thirty minutes from the town of Carrascal. Only few residents settled in this place due to the big waves that you will encounter along the way. Fishing is the primary source of income of the people and farming is just secondary.

Land Area - Caglayag's land area is estimated to about 240 hectares.

Topography, elevation & slope classification - The terrain characterestics are 32.63% plain/flat, 26.33% hill/rolling and 41.04% coastal. Soil type is predominantly sandy, followed by clay and loam.

Climate Type - No dry season with very pronounced maximum rainfall on November to January.

Population & Household Size - Barangay Caglayag has a total population of 366, comprising of 66 households with an average household size of 4.

Its constituents mostly originated from the provinces of Surigao. The very predominant dialect spoken in the area is Surigaonon.

Housing - Houses are mostly built on owned lots and are made of light materials. The rest are semi-permanent materials. They occupy relatively small spaces.

Fisheries Production - Majority of the fisherfolks are rearing Kinhason, Bulis, Gangis and Danggit.
